Head of Finance/ Director of Finance

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to lead the financial operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in both Indian and US accounting standards (IND AS, US GAAP) and regulatory compliance. This role requires a strong background in financial planning, reporting, invoicing, budgeting, risk management, and strategic decision-making to support the company's growth and operational excellence across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives.

• Oversee long-term financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting to support business growth.

• Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team on financial performance and business risks.

• Establish financial models and business analysis tools to support decision-making.

2. Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IND AS and US GAAP.

• Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits across India and the US.

• Ensure full compliance with all local and international financial regulations, including

GST, TDS, corporate tax, and US tax laws.

• Maintain strong internal controls to prevent financial misstatements and fraud.

• Ensure proper recording and reconciliation of all financial transactions.

3. Financial Operations

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including:

o Accounts payable – Ensure timely payment to vendors and suppliers.

o Accounts receivable – Monitor collections and minimize outstanding dues.

o Payroll – Oversee payroll processing and employee compensation compliance.

o Treasury and cash flow – Manage company cash flow to ensure liquidity and working capital optimization.

• Invoicing:

o Ensure timely and accurate generation of client invoices.

o Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up for collections.

o Resolve invoicing disputes and discrepancies.

• Budgeting:

o Develop and manage the company's annual budget.

o Track budget performance and identify variances with corrective action plans.

4. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and present financial statements, management reports, and board reports.

• Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs).

• Provide insights on financial performance, cost management, and business

profitability.

• Perform variance analysis and recommend adjustments to meet business goals.

5. Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Support capital-raising efforts, including equity and debt financing.

• Maintain relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.

• Ensure accurate and timely investor reporting and disclosures.

• Provide financial analysis and insights for business valuation and due diligence.

6. Risk & Governance

• Strengthen internal controls to prevent financial misstatements and fraud.

• Mitigate financial risks related to currency fluctuations, tax penalties, and regulatory

non-compliance.

• Develop strategies to manage foreign exchange exposure and financial volatility.

• Monitor and address financial risks arising from vendor contracts and payment terms.

7. Leadership & Team Development

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team across multiple geographies.

• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

• Provide mentorship and training to develop financial talent within the team.

• Encourage collaboration with other departments to align financial goals with business

operations.

Key Requirements:

Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent

financial qualification.

Experience: Minimum 12–15 years of experience in a senior financial role, with at least 5

years managing financial operations for Series B/C startup or B2B company.

Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of IND AS and US GAAP accounting standards.

• Experience in handling tax and regulatory requirements in India and the US.

• Proven track record in financial strategy, forecasting, and business analysis.
