Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Test Engineer located in Kolkata. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, verifying fixes, and conducting thorough regression testing. The role involves collaborating with developers to understand features, requirements, and user stories, as well as analyzing test results to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute
    manual and automated test cases
    for HRMS modules (e.g., Attendance, Payroll, Appraisal, Leave Management)
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand functional requirements and translate them into test scenarios
  • Perform
    end-to-end product testing
    , including regression, integration, system, and UAT
  • Develop and maintain
    automation scripts
    using tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar
  • Analyse test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with
    HRMS-specific workflows
    , data privacy standards, and business logic
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of Agile teams
  • Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and bug reports

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in
    software testing
    , with at least 2 years in the
    HRMS domain
  • Strong understanding of HR processes
    and modules (e.g., Time & Attendance, Payroll, Performance Management)
  • Proficiency in
    test automation tools
    (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Postman, JMeter)
  • Experience with
    API testing
    and tools like REST Assured or SoapUI
  • Familiarity with
    CI/CD pipelines
    and version control systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with
    biometric device integration testing
    (e.g., ZKTeco, ZKBio Time)
  • Knowledge of
    AI-driven analytics
    or
    smart HR dashboards
  • Exposure to cloud-based HRMS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors)
