About the role

:

To power our growth, we are currently seeking a talented Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join the team in developing Portable Energy Storage systems. In this role, you will lead medium to large projects and tackle significant issues. You will also interface and have regular communication with teams from Hardware, Manufacturing, Marketing, Program Management, Quality, and Compliance.

What you will do:

Hands on experience in designing electromechanical productsGood exposure on plastics, sheetmetal, casting part design and manufacturing processGood understanding on cable assemblies, ECAD/MCAD integrationsGood exposure on structural and thermal design considerationsGood Exposure on DFX for high volume productionGood exposure on prototype techniques for design, development and verificationExpertise in SolidWorks and EPDM. Knowledge on any other CAD packages will be an added advantage.Designing new components and products, sometimes as sole contributor but often as part of a team of contributorsReviewing and analyzing solutions to achieve the best outcome for performance/cost/scheduleTesting proof-of-concepts and prototypes for performanceFailure analysis and root cause identification (DFMEA and PFMEA)Component review and approval, including global travel to be on-site at vendors during pre- productionGenerating own (and reviewing others’) documentation, including concept proposals, analysis reports, component specifications, review minutesEnsure quality by designWho you are and what you bring:

Bachelor's Degree (or higher qualification) in Mechanical Engineering5+ years industry work experience in product developmentIn-depth knowledge and understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) of parts made through injection moulding, sheet metal, stamping, milling/turningExperience using Computer-Aided development tools (SolidWorks)Clear communication - verbal and writtenExperience in the design and sustaining activities on high-volume products (+500k pa) would be a plus and also previous employment in high-power and consumer products industries would be a plus.Work location:
