Summary


A proposal writer is responsible for gathering information, formatting each proposal according to company guidelines, and obtaining approval before sending proposals out to sources. You must have excellent organizational skills, work well under deadlines, and be able to communicate effectively in writing. The perfect candidate for this position cares about facts and details as well as writing in a convincing manner.


Typical duties and responsibilities


  • Attend kickoff meetings to determine project scope
  • Help create project schedules and deadlines
  • Conduct research and analysis on the project topic and target audience
  • Edit documents for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions from stakeholders and reviewers
  • Collaborate with graphic designers during layout and design
  • Present proposals to potential investors and business partners


Required skills and qualifications


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adhere to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Solid background in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as other relevant software and tools
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Westernized thinking and cultural alignment are preferred


Preferred qualifications


  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience in proposal writing or a similar role
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to persuade and influence others
  • Knowledge of best practices and trends in proposal writing and design
  • Certification or training in proposal writing or related fields
