Job Description - Testing Engineer – Research & Design (Underground Mining Equipment)
Epiroc India is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Testing Engineer in our R&D department, you will play a critical role in validating the performance, durability, and safety of next-generation underground mining equipment. You will work closely with design, prototyping, and field support teams to ensure our machines exceed the rigorous standards expected in mining environments.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, precision, and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on mining equipment.
• Conduct laboratory and field tests on prototypes and pre-production models to evaluate performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Capture and analyze test data using advanced sensors and data acquisition systems; interpret findings to guide design decisions.
• Identify and troubleshoot faults, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with design teams to implement corrective actions.
• Document test procedures, results, and recommendations in detailed technical reports.
• Support product validation efforts in extreme environmental and operational conditions.
• Ensure all testing activities align with internal quality standards and international safety regulations e.g., ISO, SAE.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related field).
• 2–5 years of experience in product testing or validation—preferably with heavy machinery, off-road vehicles, or mining equipment.
• Proficient in using testing tools, data loggers, instrumentation, and sensor systems.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with CAD and simulation tools is a plus (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB).
• Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with underground or off-highway vehicle testing
• Exposure to mining equipment operating conditions or field validation
• Knowledge of global testing standards and regulatory requirements.
