Withum’s Tax Services Group is made up of a brilliant team of tax specialists that work to ensure tax reporting obligations are met in an accurate and timely manner and minimize or defer the payment of taxes. Their comprehensive understanding of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, counting our affiliation with HLB international, allows them to help develop economical tax strategies anywhere. Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services

As a Sales & Use Tax Manager, you'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise/mentor AM/ Senior/staff, and build/maintain relationships with clients.

How You’ll Spend Your Time


• Sales and Use Tax Compliance Group works with clients to provide tax compliance services.

• Specifically, this position will focus on performing sales and use tax return compliance process services, including data validation and consolidation; error handling and reconciliation procedures; and advisory services related to sales tax matters.

• Responsibilities will include the following: validation of client data, analysis to determine new entities and/or jurisdictions that require additional filing obligations, consolidation of data for import into tax returns software, and upload of data into tax preparation software.

• Assisting with various state and local indirect tax consulting projects including sales & use and excise tax overpayment reviews, tax implications of sales and purchase transactions, audit defense services, nexus planning, and voluntary disclosures.

• Team Management and client management (for managers)



Requirements


The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of the Following:


• 7+ years’ experience of sales and use tax compliance, audits or related work in public or private accounting, or equivalent experience; preferably with SaaS and/or digitized/online products experience.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with business background

• Preferred licensed CPA

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as strong analytical, reporting and data querying skills

• Experience with Checkpoint, BNA, Avalara and/or NetSuite preferred

• Detail oriented approach to work, confidentiality, good problem-solving skills

• Ability to multitask on varying tax issues for multiple clients at a very fast-paced environment

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• Preparation and review experience of state and local indirect tax returns
