Job description and responsibilities

Main Functional

Supervise all R & D operations such as new projects, marketing samples, trouble shooting and existing product improvements.

Perform literature survey by using Sci-finder, Reaxys and other sources to identify various synthetic routes, evaluate consumption norms, waste generation and equipment requirement to support and finalize route scouting.

Plan, Design and execute chemical reactions for process development and optimization, maintain experiment data and ensure every experiment is concluded with way forward and reason.

Collaborate with analytical department to help new analytical method development and analytical data interpretation e.g. GC, HPLC, LCMS, NMR, FTIR, etc.

Perform scale up batches and tech transfer to production as well as propose related solutions for smooth scale up and monitor batch wise quality, Yield against standard

Accomplishment of department objectives by managing staff, planning and evaluating departmental activities.

Handling and training to all lab chemists about Flow Reactor and catalyst furnace.

Prepare a new heterogeneous catalyst and try to commercialize them along with their application.

Environment Health Safety

Enlisting product, intermediates and related chemicals and gathering their information like specifications, properties and MSDS for safe handling, Generation of MSDS for intermediates and Final product.

Follow process hazard management SOP, actively generate process safety data during development and actively participate in Hazop related studies; perform necessary experiment to generate information.

Ensure adherence to EHS procedures and follow them during day to day work.

Administrative

Always maintain a lab in running condition.

Prepare and maintain all lab data in systematic way as per industry format and share it to management on time.

Write process information package, technical reports and presentations related to project work.

Handling R & D audit related activity.

Maintain staff Skills by training employee.

Ensuring availability and timely follow-up of infrastructure related services viz chemicals, equipment's and their services.

Providing training and presentation to other colleagues for knowledge sharing within the department.

Have knowledge on ISO and IMS systems for quality and EHS.
