Job Description : Data EngineerPosition : Data EngineerExperience : 2-4 YearsLocation : RemoteEmployment Type : Contract (6 Months)About the Role : We are seeking a motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our data team on a 6-month contractual basis. The role focuses on developing and optimizing ETL pipelines, managing SQL Server databases, and integrating data from multiple enterprise systems such as SAP, WMS, and POS. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SSIS and SQL Server, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).- Manage data integration from SAP, WMS, POS, and other enterprise systems.- Write optimized T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for performance efficiency.- Implement Change Data Capture (CDC), indexing, and data transformation logic.- Support dimensional data modeling including Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 2).- Collaborate with DBAs, backend developers, and analysts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.- Participate in data validation, error handling, and process optimization.- Support version control and CI/CD processes using GitLab or Jenkins.- Document data flows, transformation logic, and technical specifications.- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues within defined SLAs.Skillsets & Competencies- Strong working knowledge of SQL Server (2019/2022) and SSIS.- Hands-on experience in ETL design, development, and automation.- Understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and SCD Type 2 concepts.- Experience working with ERP or warehouse systems (SAP preferred).- Familiarity with WMS, POS, or similar transactional systems.- Knowledge of GitLab/Jenkins for CI/CD and version control.- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (ref:hirist.tech)
