Position Overview:

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will drive the technology strategy for the automotive company, ensuring innovation, product development, and cutting-edge engineering solutions. The CTO will be responsible for overseeing all technological aspects of the company, from R&D and product engineering to the integration of new technologies such as electric vehicles (EV), connected cars, and autonomous driving solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive technologies and a passion for driving innovation in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Strategy & Vision: Define and implement the technology roadmap aligned with the company's long-term objectives, focusing on emerging trends such as electric mobility, autonomous vehicles, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Research & Development (R&D): Lead the R&D team to drive innovation in vehicle design, engineering, and new product development, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of automotive technology.
  • Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept and design to prototyping, testing, and production, ensuring high quality and efficiency.
  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Identify and integrate cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced materials, into the company’s product offerings.
  • Electric & Autonomous Vehicles (EV & AV): Spearhead the company's efforts in the development of electric vehicle platforms and autonomous driving technologies, working with external partners and internal teams to build future-ready solutions.
  • Collaboration with Manufacturing: Work closely with the manufacturing and operations teams to ensure the seamless integration of new technologies into production processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Technology Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with technology partners, suppliers, and academic institutions to foster collaboration and drive innovation.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead the company’s digital transformation initiatives, including Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and data-driven decision-making processes to enhance operational excellence.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Ensure that all technology systems and products adhere to the highest security standards and regulatory requirements, including data protection, vehicle safety, and emissions standards.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CTO, Senior Technology Executive, or Head of R&D in the automotive or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of automotive technology, including electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving systems, connected vehicles, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in leading R&D teams, product engineering, and technological innovations.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and the latest trends in automotive technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale technology projects, from conception to execution.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire innovation and creativity within technical teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for driving technological change.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A PhD or MBA would be an added advantage.
