The HVAC Project Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of HVAC projects, ensuring that systems are installed efficiently and effectively to meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. The engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality HVAC solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Design and Planning:
  • Develop detailed HVAC system designs based on client requirements and building specifications.
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Perform load calculations to determine heating and cooling needs.
  • Select appropriate HVAC equipment and materials.
  1. Project Management:
  • Develop project timelines, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee installation and resolve issues.
  1. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any design or operational issues that arise.
  • Ensure systems are installed and function according to design specifications.
  1. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure all HVAC installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify system performance and safety.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
  1. Client Interaction:
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide regular project updates.
  • Present design proposals and explain technical details to clients and stakeholders.
  • Address client concerns and modify designs as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license may be preferred or required.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in HVAC design and project management.
  • Experience with HVAC load calculation software (e.g., Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and design principles.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and building codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Project Management Skills:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills.
