Operations Consultant - Manufacturing Plant - FMCG - Global Consulting - MBB - client, a global consulting firm, is working on a cost improvement ideation and implementation program for a client in the consumer foods sector.
The objective is to identify and implement strategies to optimise operations and improve throughput across their manufacturing plants. This project is critical to enhancing the operational efficiency and overall profitability of the client's production units.
To support this initiative, the client is looking for an operations consultant with prior experience of managing a manufacturing plant in the FMCG industry.
The project will be based primarily on-site, with the consultant expected to work from the company's headquarters in Delhi and visit manufacturing plants in Kolkata, Pune, Patiala, and Mathura. The role will involve close collaboration with senior management and plant teams to drive impactful changes.
Key responsibilities:
- Problem Solving: Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost-saving across manufacturing plants. Develop and implement actionable strategies to address these issues in alignment with business objectives
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Engage with CXOs and key stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment on cost improvement goals and facilitate the smooth execution of initiatives
- Performance Monitoring: Track the progress of implemented strategies, assess their impact on the business, and make necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare comprehensive reports on progress, challenges, and successes. Present findings to senior leadership and offer actionable recommendations
- Continuous Improvement: Facilitate workshops and meetings aimed at driving continuous innovation in cost management practices
- You will report directly to the client's senior leadership, working closely with the operations team. You will also interact with key stakeholders across multiple departments, ensuring the initiative aligns with broader company goals.
Your background:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in cost transformation or operational improvement, particularly in a manufacturing plant in the FMCG industry
- Educational Background: MBA or Engineering degree is required
- Strong analytical skills, with proven experience in identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities.
- Experience in collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Preferred Sector Background: Experience within the consumer foods or FMCG sector is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in Nestle, HUL, Parle, ITC, Britannia, Mother Dairy, Pepsi, Dabur, GSK, or Marico are highly desirable
This opportunity will be on a 12-month contract with the client and the role requires the consultant to be based in Delhi for the entire duration of the project.
