What you will do

Conduct research on multiphase flow analysis related challenges through oil and gas well lifecycle (Drilling, completions, production) for Upstream and CCS developments. Identity improvement opportunities in current design methodologies and technologies, propose solutions and work on prioritized opportunities. Scripting for automation, solving numerical problems, optimization, proxy modelling and basic GUI deployments. Plan research work for solving problem at hand, break it down into milestones and deliver research insights to stakeholders. Perform fit for purpose flow analysis using appropriate software and tools. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to offer research insights and improve system design and operational procedures for safe and cost-effective execution of operations. Integrate findings with adjacent disciplines (reservoir, geoscience, operations) to enhance well performance and mitigate risks. Provide technical leadership in the specific areas of expertise and develop/train others.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

Masters with thesis or PhD degree from a recognized university in petroleum/chemical/mechanical/ civil engineering disciplines with minimum GPA 3+ years of research (academic/industry) experience in multiphase flow modeling and simulation partially or fully in Upstream/Wells or related technology development. Knowledge of petroleum engineering concepts, including wells drilling, completion designs, production analysis will be an added advantage. Experience with Engineering Applications such as Ansys Fluent, Olga for solving Computational Fluid Dynamics or multiphase flow analysis problems.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

Experience in one or more programming languages such as MATLAB/Python will be preferred. Experience in computational and/or data science (, machine learning, optimization) will be an added advantage. Demonstrated experience of working in research/technology development, ability to research plan and lead. Demonstrated teamwork, communication and leadership skills are essential. Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
