Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design electrical system layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel designs using Microstation software.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations related to electrical design in the oil and gas industry.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and other team members to interpret electrical design requirements and ensure that designs meet project specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and design reports.
  • Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams during the execution phase of projects.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure that all electrical designs meet the specified client requirements and project schedules.
  • Perform design changes and revisions based on project feedback and ensure traceability of modifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of material requisitions, equipment specifications, and vendor data review.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress, issues, and project timelines.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated and seamless design output.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience using Microstation in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and cable tray design.
  • Experience working on offshore and onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Software Skills:
  • Proficient in using Microstation for electrical design drafting.
  • Familiarity with electrical design software tools and AutoCAD (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards:
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical design codes, including IEC, NEC, IEEE, and local oil and gas industry standards.
  • Experience with IEC Ex and hazardous area classification designs is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex design specifications and project requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Certifications: Certification in electrical design software and industry-specific safety training is a plus (e.g., HAZOP, ATEX, etc.).
