Roles and Responsibilities:


Responsible for tax activities and compliances for all group entities based in India, US, UAE, etc. These include Income tax and GST compliance in India, IRS filing for US entities, UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliances, and Economic Substance Regulation compliances.


India GST related activities, e.g.

  • Transaction analysis and GST invoice generation along with finance team
  • Timely filing of periodic GST returns and refunds claims
  • Handling of GST audit and assessment, filing of responses to any notice, filing of appeal, representing the company along with advisor to the respective GST Forum
  • Handling of ongoing GST matters and litigations


India Income tax-related activities, e.g.

  • Advising the finance team on various tax matters like withholding tax, transfer pricing margin, allowable and disallowable expenditures, etc.
  • Ensuring timely payment of advance tax, TDS, self-assessment tax
  • Timely filing of TDS return, Income Tax return, Tax audit & Transfer Pricing filing
  • Handling of assessment, filing of responses to any notice, filing of appeal, representing the company along with advisor to the respective Forum, Handling of ongoing Tax matters and litigations


UAE VAT and Corp Tax matters, like:

  • Timely filing of VAT Returns and Refunds, liaison with FTA
  • Handling of UAE Corp Tax, needs the ability to get an in-depth understanding of UAE Corp Tax laws and any latest releases, filing of Corp Tax returns or any other filing as needed, liaison with FTA and advisors and advising the finance team on various VAT/Corp tax matters


Handling of US tax filing, e.g. payment of timely advance tax, filing of perioding returns/Forms (as applicable)


Handling of timely ESR compliance across various jurisdictions


Mentor and manage the tax team of 3 resources

  • Work with management and advisors on
  • transfer pricing and FEMA implications
  • structuring tax-efficient organisation structures
  • tax efficient M&A or divestitures


Support the business and finance team on any tax query


Pre-requisites:

  • A qualified CA with 10-15 years of relevant experience (Big 4 background is preferred)
  • Robust knowledge of OECD guidelines, tax treaties, transfer pricing framework etc
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong communication skills, able to quickly build relationships and ensure clarity to non-tax personnel
  • Strong spreadsheet & presentation skills
