will lead and manage the overall planning function for the

denim

product

line, ensuring alignment with production, merchandising, and sales strategies. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring that the company meets market demands while maintaining profitability. The candidate must have a strong background in apparel, with significant experience specializing in denim products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Strategic Planning :Develop and execute comprehensive production and inventory plans aligned with the company’s strategic goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, merchandising, sales, and logistics) to forecast demand and ensure smooth operations.Lead the planning cycle, including capacity planning, material requirement planning (MRP), and supply chain optimization.

2.Inventory and Supply Chain Management :Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and cost-efficiency.Monitor denim-specific trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, including denim fabrics and trims, while maintaining vendor relationships.Develop strategies for inventory turnover and reducing waste in the supply chain.

3.Demand Forecasting & Analysis :Utilize market trends, historical data, and sales input to forecast demand for denim products.Track and adjust plans based on market fluctuations, production capabilities, and customer demand.Regularly review planning metrics and KPIs to ensure targets are met.

4.Production Scheduling :Oversee production scheduling for denim lines, ensuring that production is in line with demand forecasts and production capacity.Monitor factory production timelines, ensuring that lead times, efficiency, and quality standards are maintained.Liaise with production teams to adjust schedules as necessary, mitigating delays and resolving bottlenecks.

5.Team Leadership & Development :Manage and mentor the planning team, ensuring professional development and operational efficiency.Foster a collaborative environment between planning, production, and sales teams.Lead initiatives to improve planning processes and adopt new technologies or systems for better decision-making.

6.Cost Management :Work closely with finance to manage budgets related to inventory, production planning, and procurement.Identify cost-saving opportunities within the planning and supply chain processes.

7.Vendor and Stakeholder Management :Develop and maintain relationships with denim fabric suppliers, ensuring quality and delivery timelines.Work with external stakeholders, including third-party manufacturers, to meet production and delivery targets.

8.Continuous Improvement :Continuously review planning processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices.Stay up to date on industry trends, particularly those affecting denim production and supply chain processes.

PRE - REQUISITES :Bachelor's degree in Production, Business Administration or equivalent qualificationOverall 10 - 12+ years of experience with exposure to handling

denim or any woven

related apparel planning.Prior experience in

industrial engineering

would be an added advantage.
