Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Color Separation Artist to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing artwork for production by separating colors accurately and optimizing designs for various printing techniques. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality prints and maintaining the integrity of the original artwork. You will be supplied the arts/images in jpeg, png, .ai, etc formats, you would responsible to separate the colors from the provided art.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret artwork to determine the best color separation techniques for production.
- Perform accurate color separations for screen printing, offset printing, or digital printing.
- Use software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or specialized separation tools to prepare artwork.
- Adjust colors, gradients, and halftones to achieve the desired visual output.
- Ensure proper trapping, overprinting, and other prepress adjustments for seamless printing.
- Collaborate with designers, printers, and production teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Troubleshoot design and separation issues to maintain consistency and quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, software updates, and best practices in color separation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Color Separation Artist or similar role in the printing industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and other graphic design tools.
- Strong understanding of color theory, CMYK and RGB color spaces, halftones, and printing processes.
- Attention to detail and precision in preparing files for production.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in Color Separation
- Certification or degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Experience in industries like textiles, packaging, or advertising.
