Job Summary

This role involves performing HR-related duties on a professional level and collaborating closely with senior management and staff at House of Spices Inc., India, to support designated geographic regions. The responsibilities span across various functional areas including recruitment/employment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, benefits administration, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and policies/procedures manual.
  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Promotes HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directories.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve department efficiency and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Supports employee engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Masters' degree in human resources or a related field.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)/(SHRM-CP) credential.
  • 3 to 5 years of human resource experience.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. ADP) are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Desire to work collaboratively within a results-driven team environment.
  • Experience working in a start-up setting is beneficial.
