Job Title : Branch Head - Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Audit (Associate Director)

Location : Mumbai, India

Reports To : Senior Leadership Team

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Mumbai branch with a focus on Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, and Audit services. As the Branch Head (Associate Director), you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch's operations, client engagement, and business development. You will manage teams across direct and indirect taxation and audit functions, ensuring the highest level of service delivery and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Branch Management:

- Lead, manage, and oversee the daily operations of the Mumbai branch.

- Build a high-performing team, mentor, and guide tax and audit professionals to achieve branch and individual goals.

- Drive business development initiatives to grow the branch's client base.

Direct & Indirect Taxation:

- Lead tax compliance and advisory services in areas of Direct Taxation (Corporate Tax, Income Tax, etc.) and Indirect Taxation (GST, VAT, Customs, etc.).

- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients.

- Handle tax litigations, assessments, and representations before tax authorities.

Audit & Assurance:

- Oversee Statutory Audits, Internal Audits, and Forensic Audits in line with regulatory requirements.

- Ensure audits are conducted with strict adherence to industry standards and guidelines.

- Work closely with clients to understand their business, audit needs, and ensure timely completion of engagements.

Client Relationship & Business Development:

- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for their tax and audit needs.

- Identify new opportunities for client acquisition and service diversification.

- Represent the firm at industry forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance the firm's visibility.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure that all tax and audit services are compliant with regulatory guidelines and standards.

- Develop risk management strategies to safeguard the branch and its clients.

- Stay updated with changing tax laws and audit standards and implement necessary changes in the firm's approach.

Team Development:

- Recruit, train, and develop team members across tax and audit domains.

- Foster a collaborative and learning-driven work environment.

- Set clear performance goals for the team and monitor progress regularly.

Qualifications & Experience:

- CA in Finance/Accounting or a related field.

- 7+ years of relevant experience in Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, and Audit from any CA firm.

- Proven experience in client management, team leadership, and branch operations.

- Strong understanding of Indian tax laws, audit regulations, and statutory requirements.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
