Senior Analyst - FP&A Job Overview: The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst/Manager plays a critical role in a company's financial management by providing valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position involves forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis to ensure the company's financial health and growth.Key Responsibilities:Financial Forecasting and Budgeting:- Collaborate with various departments to create annual and quarterly budgets.- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and budgeting processes.- Monitor and update forecasts as needed to reflect changing market conditions and business objectives.Financial Reporting:- Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.- Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities.- Create executive summaries to communicate financial performance to senior management.Variance Analysis:- Investigate and explain variances between actual financial results and budgets/forecasts.- Identify key drivers impacting financial performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.Strategic Planning:- Assist in long-term financial planning and strategic initiatives by providing data-driven insights.- Analyze potential investments, acquisitions, and capital expenditure projects to assess their financial viability.Cost Management:- Analyze and control costs across the organization to improve efficiency and profitability.- Develop cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the impact of cost-saving measures.KPI Tracking:- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge business performance and assess progress toward financial goals.- Provide actionable recommendations based on KPI trends.Ad Hoc Analysis:- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management to support Collaboration:- Work closely with other departments, such as Accounting, Sales, and Operations, to gather data and insights for financial analysis.- Collaborate with the CFO and senior leadership to align financial strategies with overall business Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).- Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using tools such as Excel, financial planning software, and data visualization tools.- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial information clearly.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Familiarity with industry-specific metrics and benchmarks is a plus.- Experience with ERP systems or financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is advantageous.- The FP&A Analyst/Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization and provides critical insights to support informed decision-making.
