Role: Assistant Registrar
Job Description
The Assistant Registrar at Plaksha University will manage essential academic and administrative functions, ensuring regulatory compliance and smooth university operations. The role will involve compliance with UGC requirements, organizing meetings for university boards, preparing for inspections, and overseeing accreditations like NAAC and NIRF. They will also facilitate student registration, graduation, and collaborates across departments, supporting Plaksha's standards and reputation in higher education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage student records and ensure regulatory compliance, including UGC requirements and audit certifications.
- Organize and document meetings for the Governing Board (GB), Board of Management (BOM), and Academic Council (AC), and track action items.
- Draft university statutes, develop annexures, and enforce policies on registration, grading, and academic integrity.
- Ensure readiness for UGC inspections through pre-inspection questionnaires, parameter tracking, and collaboration with department heads.
- Update and comply with National Academic Directory (NAD) and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) requirements.
- Monitor updates from the Ministry of Education, UGC, and submit data for the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE).
- Develop strategies for accreditations (NAAC, NBA, NIRF) and AIU membership and maintain data for the same.
- Act as a liaison across key departments (Academic Office, Student Life, HR, Finance, Research, etc.) for seamless operations.
- Collaborate with the Legal Advisor on MoUs, agreements, and legal cases as required, with an understanding that MoUs may typically fall under the Office of Research, Innovations and Linkages, or International/National Outreach.
- Respond to state government orders (GOs) or communications from State Government offices, such as the Ministry of Education and the Chancellor's Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 6-8 years in academic administration or related roles, with a solid understanding of university operations, preferably in higher education organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills; familiarity with data systems, especially SIS.
Education
A master's degree in education administration, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
