Merchandising Head Job Description.

Position Overview:

The Head of Merchandising at GIVA will be responsible for developing and executing the

merchandising strategy to maximize sales and profitability across both online and offline channels.

This role requires a keen eye for design, a deep understanding of market trends, and strong

leadership skills to manage a team of merchandisers and collaborate with cross-functional

departments. The person should have analytical mindset, and should be able to design inventory

models.

Key Responsibilities:

Merchandising Strategy:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive merchandising strategy that aligns with the GIVA’s

brand vision and business objectives.

• Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity to identify

opportunities for new product development and assortment planning.

• Ensure a cohesive product offering that meets the needs of both online and offline

customers.


Product Assortment:

• Oversee the selection and curation of the product assortment, ensuring a balanced and

compelling range of fine jewelry.

• Collaborate with design and production teams to develop new collections and exclusive

pieces.

• Manage product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, including product launches and

discontinuations.

Inventory Management:

• Develop and maintain inventory strategies that optimize stock levels and minimize excess

inventory.

• Implement effective inventory control measures to ensure accurate forecasting and demand

planning.

• Monitor sales performance and adjust inventory plans accordingly.

Sales and Marketing Collaboration:

• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop promotional strategies that

drive traffic and sales across all channels.

• Provide input on pricing strategies, promotional activities, and marketing campaigns.

• Ensure merchandising efforts are effectively communicated and executed in both online and

offline environments.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of merchandisers, fostering a collaborative and high-

performance culture.

• Set clear goals and performance expectations, providing regular feedback and conducting

performance evaluations.


Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Utilize data analytics to monitor sales trends, product performance, and customer behavior.

• Generate regular reports on merchandising metrics and provide actionable insights to senior

management.

• Implement data-driven decision-making processes to enhance merchandising effectiveness.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, Fashion, or a related field.

Master’s degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in merchandising, preferably within the fine jewellery

or luxury goods industry/ 4+ years of experience with Tier 1 consulting firms

• Strong understanding of both online and offline retail environments.

• Proven track record of developing and executing successful merchandising strategies

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed

decisions.
