The position is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and management of all aspects of the organization's information technology systems and infrastructure. S/he will lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring that technology initiatives align with the company's objectives and contribute to its overall success. S/he plays a critical role in driving innovation, enhancing operational efficiency, and safeguarding the organization's digital assets.


Ensure all disciplines of IT practice work together cohesively to optimize (efficient & cost effective) outcomes for Bridgestone India operations. Oversee the IT Service Delivery function including the teams responsible for incident and request management and ensure responses are in line with agreed KPI's and SLA's. Control the selection and training of IT professionals and other staff and monitor their performance. Manage internal prioritization of IT functions, activities and projects.

Establish and maintain regular meetings and communication with business units to ensure appropriate prioritization of their requirements.


Key Responsibility

Strategic Planning:

  • Designing & implementing IT strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to drive business growth and competitive advantage.
  • Direct IT operations and set priorities between development, maintenance and operating functions, and ensure required levels of customer service are met.


Infrastructure management:

  • Lead to oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of IT resources to meet current and future needs.
  • Direct IT operations and set priorities between development, maintenance and operating functions, and ensure required levels of customer service are met.
  • Plan, recommend, coordinate and schedule all investigations, feasibility studies and surveys or proposed and existing IT and OT applications to achieve business objectives and alignment with the agreed strategy.
  • Direct the selection, installation and use of computing equipment and software, in conjunction with regional and global technology standards.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new equipment, systems and programming techniques appropriate to the organization.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with technology vendors to maintain an understanding of current technology developments and trends, understand how these may be employed in Bridgestone to improve processes and improve efficiency.


Governance Risk & Compliance

  • Establish and control IT investment including expense and capital budgets in accordance with delegated authority levels.
  • Control the security of information systems and ensure the application of generally accepted best practice.
  • Direct system maintenance work and quality control to ensure the efficient and timely operation of the IT functions and oversee the operation of system change management processes.
  • Ensure that appropriate system patching & checking mechanisms are considered so that data integrity is maintained and not compromised.
  • Establish and maintain KPI's and SLA's in conjunction with business unit & customer requirements.
  • Ensure all activities undertaken by IT employees comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
  • Plan & formulate IT policies to meet current & future needs of the business.
  • Liaise with the Company's auditors in relation to any findings and ensure strong IT general controls are in place and maintained.
  • Manage risk through the design & operation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery measures.


Project Management

  • Oversee the effective management of IT projects ensuring the application of accepted project management methodologies.
  • Manage formal project management frameworks (project plans, project charters and guidelines) to provide a strong foundation for successful project outcomes
  • Ensure that team members involved in projects work cohesively with other teams as required.
  • Ensure regular status updates are provided to sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Active participation in Business Innovation projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to understand their technology requirements and priorities.
  • Communicate IT initiatives, projects, and milestones effectively to executive leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and align strategies with RHO and drive the best effect projects for Bridgestone India.


People Development

  • Actively focus on people and organisation effectiveness by leading, coaching and motivating the team in the pursuit of operational excellence. Ensure that key talent is properly identified, retained and developed, and that succession plans are in place for key roles.
  • Accountable and responsible for team capability development, upskilling and review team fit in terms of teamwork and collaboration, inclusion and social dimension, transparency, respect and trust.
  • Responsible to drive performance driven culture, to reward performers and manage underperformers.
  • Accountable for teams’ constructive feedback to raise team performance for continuous improvement.


Budgeting & Resource Allocation:

  • Develop and manage the IT budget, allocating resources effectively to support strategic initiatives while optimizing costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate potential investments in technology solutions.


Vendor Management:

  • In collaboration with procurement evaluate and select third-party vendors, partners, and service providers to support the organization's IT needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships effectively, negotiating contracts, and service agreements to ensure optimal value and performance.


Global/ Region/ Local Initiatives

  • Smart Fleet (PPK Automation)
  • Smart Factory (Smart Energy, Smart maintenance)
  • Global and regional cyber security and IT GRC initiatives


Job Requirements

  • 18-20 yrs of leadership and Management experience with relevant, & similar experience in the field of IT and Sound Business acumen across domain
  • Bachelor of Engineering / IT and Management post-graduation
  • High level of integrity, respect for others, persistence, and passion for success
  • Language proficiency: English is mandatory (other language(s) are added advantage)
