JOB DESCRIPTION


CTO - Chief Technology Officer.

Experience: 7 to 10yrs

Location: Chennai

Salary: 5 to 7 LPA

Immediate Joiners.

 Provide support to all MFI staff on both hardware & software computer issues

 When malfunctions occur, diagnose the problem and arrange for appropriate and timely repairs

 Set up new computer units and install licensed Operating System and other official software programs in Branches and Head Office

 Assists in hardware maintenance

 Maintain standardized workplace setup according to IT Policy.

 MFI employees receive immediate support

 All hardware and software is functioning smoothly

 All new PCs hardware and software are set up according to MFI IT policies and procedures.

 All PCs, servers and networks are properly configured and functioning


Planning & Analysis:

 Handle all phases of planning and tracking including budgeting, procurement, scheduling process control and risk management.

 Perform project requirements gathering and gap analysis and define scope of the project.

 Prepare personal and department plan of action to ensure effective workflow;

 Project requirements, gap analysis thoroughly review.

 Project papers/business case, scheduling and timelines, are in placed


Project Organizing:

 Be responsible in the selection, orientation, and coordination of the project steering committee and the project team;

 With guidance from the project steering committee and in coordination with the project team selects, conduct orientation, and supervise the user acceptance test team;

 Be responsible in coordinating with service providers e.g. software vendors, 3rd party implementers, etc.;

 Select trainers, perform and/or supervise training in coordination with the service provider.

 Coordination with relevant stakeholders and communication of the project is timely.

 Timely STC meetings are held

 Training on Trainer (TOT) is facilitated

 End User is trained to carry out the changes


Project management and implementation:

 In charge with managing the implementation in order to produce the required functionality within the budgeted time and cost.

 In case of changes of scope and requirements, ensure a “change management” process is in place to track system and operations changes.

 In coordination with the software vendor/providers and inputs from various department heads, the Project Manager should be able to lead the development of new operations and

 End User is trained to carry out the new changes on their own.

 User Manuals and the relevant documents are in place

 Relevant hardware are purchased on time.

 User Support - The Project Manager is responsible for establishing a process to ensure:

o End-user training

o User satisfaction

o Issues management and escalation

 Administration - The Project Manager performs administrative processes as necessary including, but not limited to:

o Approving timesheets for project team members

o Procurement

o Asset Management


Monitoring, follow up reporting and project closure:

 Conducts proper project monitoring and evaluation, project review and adjustment, project rolling out, project closing out, and project documentations.

 Monitors and follows up the day-to-day activities and progress of the project.

 Communicate and regular project reporting, which include narrative reports and progress update reports to stakeholders inside and outside the VisionFund.

 Transfer all deliverables to relevant stakeholders and complete project closure documentation.

 The day-to-day activities and progress are properly monitored and followed up, recommendation for any adjustments are properly made.

 All required reports are timely summited to CEO.

 Project plan is updated.

 Project closure documentation is completed.


Accountability and support

 Ensure that all desktop/laptop computers and mobile phones are kept safe from viruses (check that up-to-date virus protection software is installed on all machines, provide basic training and information sharing)

 Maintain Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure at each MFI office.

 Check the interconnectivity of all the shared resources;

 Monitor network hardware and respond to any malfunction;

 Provide technical support for implementing LAN/WAN in Head Office and Branch Offices.

 Follow agreed back up plan of MFI

 Train MFI staff on backup procedures

 Maintain security level as prescribed by IT Policy

 Provide support to MFI employees on all non-computer related communications equipment (i.e. telephones, fax, mobile phones, etc)

 VFI standard virus protection software is installed on each laptop/desktop

 VFI standard virus protection software is updated on each computer regularly

 WAN/LAN is implemented and functional at all times in each office

 Each MFI employee is trained in backup procedures

 Information is secured and protected

 All office non-computer communications equipment is functioning smoothly


Facilitate IT procurement:

 Collect information from branches regarding IT equipment needs

 Assess potential suppliers of IT hardware and software

 Deliver and allocate assets

 Manage cartridges flow from/to branches, maintaining appropriate records, submitting allocation information to the finance department

 Provide support for IT Software being used by the MFI

 IT procurement is conducted based on IT Policies and procedures

 All branches have functioning IT computer and non-computer communication machines and systems

 IT procurement documentation is in place

 Coordinate with the vendor and clear the issues if any

 Maintain a log of all the issues and time taken to close the issues.

 Ensure backups are taken regularly and safe keeping of the same off site.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education & Experience

 Graduate in IT

 Excellent knowledge related to system hardware and software

 Minimum 3+ years’ experience in IT field.


Knowledge and Skills

 Network Administrator, technology and configuration

 Backup systems application

 Standardized software maintenance

 Database management

 Project management

 Stakeholder management

 Preferable Project management certifications in PMP, PRINCE or Six Sigma.

 Recent technical training on Project management.

 Ability to use computer, attend meetings, travel abroad

 English fluency


Work Environment

 Travel: 10% travel is required and 90% Office- based

 On call: After or before working hours as necessary from time-to-time
