Responsibilities :
- Setup and build processes that are easy to use for development and production, yet secure.
- Setup and maintain infrastructure in our AWS environment using Terraform.
- Tune our datastores like Couchbase, ElasticSearch, and Kafka.
- Create and maintain monitoring and alerting for our production systems.
- Optimize our continuous integration environment, manage our dependencies, and facilitate testing of our code.
- Improve our deployment processes based on Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Continuously work with the software development teams and provide guidance during the design phases.
- Act as one of the Subject Matter Expert for DevOps within the engineering organization.
- Take part in planning, and support the daily operations of the team.
- Work with and learn from a talented team of engineers and product managers located in Switzerland and the United States
Required Skills and Attributes :
- You have a solid background in system security.
- You can write code and scripts.
- You tend to not do things manually more than twice, you would rather automate.
- You love solving problems and digging deeper.
- You are self-directed and hands-on.
- Able to communicate well in English.
- Experience with Lean engineering practices
- Strong and diverse technical background
- A strong bias toward execution and incremental delivery of business value
- Ability to work independently and to be self-aligning;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to dive-deep and be hands-on when needed;
Experience Requirement :
- 3+ years of experience working as a Cloud Engineer
- In-depth knowledge in AWS, and at least in one scripting language such as Python, Bash
- Advanced knowledge of databases and messaging systems (e.g. Couchbase, Kafka)
- Advanced knowledge of infrastructure as code and continuous integration and deployment
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
