Key Responsibilities :- Install, configure, and administer VMware virtualization environments.- Perform daily health checks, monitor system performance, and escalate issues to L2/L3 when required.- Diagnose and resolve L1-level issues related to VMware, vCenter, and ESXi.- Manage user-submitted tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.- Apply patches and updates to vCenter, ESXi, and virtualization components.- Support multi-node clustered setups and assist in vSAN administration.- Monitor resource usage using tools such as Grafana, Nagios, or OpsRamp.- Collaborate with peer teams to resolve technical challenges and share knowledge.- Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for troubleshooting and best practices.- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).- Provide high-quality support with a customer-first attitude, ensuring prompt communication and case Skills :- 2+ years of experience in VMware Virtualization (L1).- Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSwitches.- Hands-on experience with vSAN administration.- Basic troubleshooting of VMware environment issues.- Experience with server hardware administration (Linux, Windows).- Knowledge of vCenter and ESXi patching.- Familiarity with server storage connectivity basics.- Experience monitoring environments with Grafana, Nagios, OpsRamp.- Exposure to Incident, Change, and Problem management Skills :- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technology teams.- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to HPEs values.- Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.- Demonstrated responsibility for end-to-end problem ownership.- Strong case management skills with clear summaries and :- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).- VMware certifications (e.g., VCP VMware Certified Professional) are a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
