Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Director for our Solar Power Plant projects. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the complete EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) process, ensuring the effective planning, commissioning, and execution of solar power projects. This leadership role requires a strong technical background, project management expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

1. EPC Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction for solar power projects.
  • Ensure all engineering designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiations, and material procurement.
  • Supervise construction activities to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

2. Project Planning:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals and objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet changing conditions and requirements.

3. Commissioning:

  • Lead the commissioning process, including system testing, performance validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all systems are fully operational and meet performance specifications.
  • Manage the transition from commissioning to operational handover to the operations and maintenance team.

4. Execution and Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and support staff.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Resolve project-related issues and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) in Engineering or Project Management is preferred.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 22 years of experience in the solar power industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing EPC projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale solar power projects from inception to completion.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of solar power technology, including PV systems, inverters, and balance of system components.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in project planning tools and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is preferred.
