Ross Stores is hiring for an experienced Merchandising Manager to for our Decorative Textiles category at our growing Gurgaon-based sourcing office.

As part of our team, this Merchandise Manager will provide expertise on all aspects of Overseas Sourcing for multiple Decorative Textiles (i.e. pillows, throws, etc.) categories and act as a strategic partner to Ross' US Merchants and Product Sourcing teams. Identify and foster strong supplier relationships, work directly with factories to execute on the Merchants vision, develop product and manage the production process to deliver aesthetic, quality and value. Reports to the Senior Merchandise Manager.


  • Ongoing travel to relevant sourcing regions, 2-4 days per visit. Weekly visits and ongoing visits to all vendor regions will be active part of this role.
  • Driving sourcing strategy by building a strong vendor base, identifying and fostering potential new partners for Ross.
  • Identify capacity and country issues in region which could create market disruption, increase risk, or drive cost increases
  • Support Merchandisers in executing their goals, developing product options to address specific merchandising needs and priorities in Decorative Textiles.
  • Serve as point of contact for vendors to address production issues; testing requirements
  • Collect and share current trend insights in raw materials, manufacturing, and product-specific intelligence (e.g., trending vendors, silhouettes, fabrications)
  • Proactively identify product newness while in the factory.
  • Lead negotiations, cost, lead times, and minimum order quantities.
  • Cost engineer product across categories to meet our customer value proposition
  • Oversee new supplier set- up, onboarding, and supporting vendors in accrediting them for pre-production approvals
  • Ensures metrics on Development, Adoption Rate, Manufacturing KPIs meet the needs of the business
  • And other related duties as assigned.


The qualified candidate will bring:


  • 10+ years experience in Decorative Textiles merchandising (specifically decorative pillows and throws)
  • Team management experience:
  • Experience sourcing suppliers across Delhi/NCR, Panipat, Karur and Jaipur
  • Strong US Market knowledge (+experience on agent or retail side)
  • Proven ability to manage high SKU count and multi-category management.
  • Proven experience implementing processes, strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly on factory visits.
  • Strong English communication skills.
