Job Summary:
The Creative Director - Copy will be responsible for leading the creative copywriting team and developing impactful, innovative, and effective messaging that aligns with the company's brand voice and objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of how to craft compelling narratives across various channels, including digital, print, and broadcast.
You will collaborate with art directors, designers, marketing strategists, and other stakeholders to create content that resonates with our target audience and drives results. Your expertise in creative copywriting will help shape our brand’s tone, voice, and messaging in a way that engages and inspires our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Leadership: Lead and inspire the copywriting team to deliver high-quality, on-brand copy across all platforms. Set the creative direction for campaigns and ensure consistency in tone and messaging.
- Strategy Development: Work closely with marketing and creative teams to develop strategic, results-driven content that aligns with brand goals, business objectives, and campaign initiatives.
- Content Creation: Oversee the development of copy for a wide range of projects, including websites, emails, social media, digital ads, video scripts, product descriptions, and more.
- Brand Voice: Define and maintain the brand voice across all channels. Ensure all copy reflects the brand’s tone, style, and personality.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, art directors, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive storytelling through both visual and written elements.
- Quality Control: Review and edit copy for clarity, grammar, tone, and adherence to brand guidelines. Ensure all content is of the highest quality and meets the company’s standards.
- Team Management: Mentor and develop a team of copywriters, providing guidance, feedback, and support. Manage workload and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of content.
- Trend Analysis: Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and cultural shifts to keep the brand relevant and innovative.
- Client/Stakeholder Interaction: Work with internal stakeholders or clients to understand their needs and objectives, and translate those into compelling copy solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in copywriting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Creative Director, Senior Copywriter, etc.)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of work across multiple channels, with a focus on innovative, brand-building copy.
- Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Deep understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts.
- Proficiency in digital platforms, SEO, and content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
- Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
