DB2 Database Administrator Experience- 9-16 years Location- KolkataThe ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting of DB2 databases across various versions (including 10.5, 11.1, 11.5, 12 etc).ResponsibilitiesThe candidate should have experience working in high-availability environments and demonstrate strong skills in automation, security, and compliance. Perform periodic maintenance. Monitor database performance and perform proactive tuning. Implement and manage robust backup and recovery procedures, including RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) consideration, while supporting data replication and migration between different DB2 environments. Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives. Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud / version upgrades).Required SkillsStrong knowledge of IBM DB2 LUW and/or DB2 z/OS database platforms. Database Administration – DB2 LUW Support critical production environment. Familiarity with monitoring tools like db2top, IBM Data Server Manager. Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization. Experience with DB2 commands: Stop/Start Databases, Display command, Cancel thread and Term & Display utility, others. Hands-on experience on DB2 utilities: Reorg and Runstat, Backup and Recovery of Table spaces (copy & recover), Repair, Load/Unload utilities. Ability to bind/rebind the Plans/Packages and Granting required accesses to Packages/Plans/Collections. Experience in Database replication – IBM DB2 Data Propagator. DB2 administration - Strong Troubleshooting skills. Must have performed DB2 migration Addition and removal of hosts from the cluster manager and shared file system. Good communication skills with both technical and management teams.Preferred SkillsExperience with remote installation and configuration of the DB2 pure scale feature. Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL DB administration. Experience in database security auditing and compliance. Familiarity with Ansible or Terraform tools for database deployment automation. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure) are a strong plus. Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management procedures.
