Please do not contact the recruiter directly.About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10Job Title:Senior .Net Backend Developer The Team:The Data Services team, in collaboration with the Data Science team, is responsible for the services and libraries that provide data access for various S&P Global products. Comprised of experienced developers, this team delivers foundational components that impact major areas of the platform. The majority of the work involves service-side ownership of core API design, development, and deployment into various environments.The Impact:This team plays a crucial role in providing data science intelligence and data access technologies to our products. By building intelligent, stable, and performant systems, the team ensures our clients can access quality data in an easy and interactive way.What's in it for you: Opportunity to work on a core part of the S&P Global Platform. Use of the latest technologies and tools in the industry.Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications using relevant backend technologies. Deliver on requirements for user stories in a multi-functional Agile team. Develop expertise in proprietary enterprise software products. Implement and manage cloud-based deployments and microservices architecture to ensure scalability and reliability. Build and maintain key pipelines that deploy various APIs into different environments. Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Understand and consider customer environments and their use of our products. Apply software engineering practices and implement automation across all elements of solution delivery.What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5 to 9 years of professional experience in software development. Strong technical skills to understand and deliver on complex requirements. Expertise in backend development, web services, and RESTful APIs. Relevant experience with data-related technologies including relational databases and NoSQL solutions. Understanding of architectural patterns and techniques. Ability to resolve functional and performance issues using debugging and profiling techniques. Understanding of large language models and prompt engineering. Knowledge of information and application security aspects. Demonstrated success as a problem solver. Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools.Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud platforms. Experience with developing and deploying software as APIs or frameworks. Familiarity with containerization technologies and orchestration tools. Strong experience with backend development languages. Experience with data access and service-related technologies. History of applying processes that ensure high-quality software, such as test-driven development, unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
