Database Development :


- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.


- Collaborate with application developers to implement and improve database solutions.


- Work with JSON/JSONB, PL/pgSQL, and advanced PostgreSQL features.


- Create and maintain database schema designs tailored to business requirements.


- Implement and manage ETL processes and data pipelines.


Database Administration :


- Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of PostgreSQL database systems.


- Monitor database performance and optimize using indexing, partitioning, and tuning.


- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using replication, clustering, and backup solutions.


- Manage user roles, privileges, and security policies for database access.


- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, and Troubleshooting :


- Analyze and resolve database-related performance issues and errors.


- Monitor database health using tools like pgAdmin, pg_stat_statements, or third-party monitoring solutions.


- Provide on-call support for critical production and Best Practices :


- Develop and enforce database standards, guidelines, and best practices.


- Mentor junior team members and conduct code reviews for database-related work.


- Work with DevOps teams to integrate PostgreSQL databases into CI/CD pipelines.


Required Skills and Qualifications :


- 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL development and administration.


- Expertise in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database optimization techniques.


- Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization.


- Proficiency with PostgreSQL tools and extensions


- Experience with database replication, clustering, and failover strategies.


- Knowledge of cloud-hosted PostgreSQL services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL).


- Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting.


- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


- Strong communication and documentation skills.
