H. Job Summary:

  • The Purchase Head will lead the procurement function for our client, focusing on sourcing and managing materials essential for the mass manufacturing of fans. This role demands extensive experience in procurement within a mass manufacturing environment, strategic sourcing capabilities, and strong leadership skills. The Purchase Head will ensure a seamless supply chain, optimize procurement processes, and build strong relationships with suppliers to support the company’s manufacturing goals.

I. Key Responsibilities:

a) Strategic Procurement:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's manufacturing requirements and business goals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish longterm relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing of materials.

b) Supplier Management:

  • Manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contractual terms and quality standards.
  • Resolve any issues related to supplier performance or delivery, maintaining a focus on minimizing disruptions to the supply chain.

c) Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, including cost control measures and financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, and supplier negotiations.
  • Monitor market trends and commodity prices to make informed purchasing decisions and manage cost risks.

d) Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with the production and inventory management teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely availability of materials.
  • Implement inventory control processes to minimize excess stock and reduce carrying costs.

e) Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and improve procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices in procurement, including the use of technology and data analytics to optimize purchasing decisions.

f) Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards in all procurement activities.
  • Manage risks associated with procurement, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and supplier dependencies.

g) Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development opportunities for team members.

h) Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and finance teams, to align procurement activities with manufacturing needs and overall business objectives.
  • Represent the procurement function in meetings and negotiations with suppliers and other external partners.

J. Qualifications:

a) Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional qualifications in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.

b) Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement within a mass manufacturing environment, with a strong background in sourcing materials for fan or similar electrical appliance manufacturing.

  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost control.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
