Senior Equity Analyst - Special Situations


Alpha Alternatives is a multi-asset class alternatives asset management platform based out of India and Singapore, with over 12000 crores of assets under management, and deep focus on alpha generation. We are passionate about finding alternative investment opportunities that can deliver superior risk-return characteristics. We operate across various alternative spaces like Commodities, Equities, Absolute Returns, Structured Credit, Fixed Income, Quant, and Infrastructure. Our products span across various investment structures such as AIF, PMS, NBFC and FPI.

Our team consists of 170+ people who are vastly experienced across domestic and global hedge funds and financial institutions and have strong academic credentials at top universities. We are strongly performance driven and look for people who share a similar DNA.

We are building a team of highly experienced and talented Equity Research Analysts with expertise in multiple sectors to join our Equity investing business. As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and contributing stock ideas. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in equity research on the buy side or sell side, possess exceptional analytical skills, and embody a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment alongside experienced professionals in the industry.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough and comprehensive equity research on companies within various sectors, analyzing financial statements, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors to identify investment opportunities and risks.

- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate company performance, assess valuations, and project future earnings and cash flows.

- Generate in-depth investment reports, including investment theses, competitive analysis, and SWOT analysis, providing clear and concise investment recommendations.

- Monitor and track existing investments, regularly updating investment theses based on company-specific and market-related developments.

- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and other members of the investment team to provide research-driven insights and contribute to the overall investment process.

- Contribute to the development and enhancement of investment research processes, methodologies, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications & Background:

- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Equity Research Analyst on buyside/sellside

- Proven expertise in analyzing companies across multiple sectors, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry dynamics and trends.

- Demonstrated track record of generating alpha and making successful investment recommendations.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a track record of building complex financial models and conducting detailed financial statement analysis, equity valuations and investment analysis.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas and research findings in a clear and concise manner.

- Proactive and self-motivated mindset, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
