The Retail Store Manager at JUSTDOGS is responsible for managing the store's daily operations, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, and driving sales to meet and exceed revenue targets. The role involves overseeing staff, maintaining optimal inventory levels, executing visual merchandising standards, and ensuring the profitability and smooth functioning of the store.


Responsibilities

1. Sales and Profitability
  • Drive sales performance to achieve store targets and profitability goals.
  • Implement strategies to increase average transaction value and customer retention.
  • Analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to execute store-level promotions and campaigns.
2. Customer Experience
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by training and motivating staff.
  • Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, fostering brand loyalty.
3. Staff Management
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of store associates.
  • Schedule and allocate tasks effectively to meet business needs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching for improvement.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment for the team.
4. Inventory Management
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure availability of key products and avoid overstock or stockouts.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team for timely replenishments.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy and prevent losses.
  • Implement and adhere to loss prevention measures.
5. Visual Merchandising
  • Ensure the store layout and product displays align with JUSTDOGS’ branding and merchandising standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
  • Regularly refresh product displays to highlight promotions, new arrivals, and seasonal offerings.
6. Operations Management
  • Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage cash handling, billing, and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the store's physical condition by addressing maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business or Retail Management preferred).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in a pet care or lifestyle brand.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems and inventory management tools.
  • Analytical skills to interpret sales and inventory data.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
