Software Engineer – Distributed Systems

This is an opportunity to work on complex, large-scale, high-availability distributed systems while shaping the next generation of Xcitium’s product ecosystem—trusted globally for endpoint protection, ZeroDwell™ virtualization, MDR, and enterprise security solutions. Expect to solve challenging architectural problems, contribute to core security technologies, and help deliver systems with unmatched performance and reliability. ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain scalable microservices and modern web applications supporting Xcitium’s security platform. Build high-availability distributed systems capable of handling large volumes of telemetry and security data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate cybersecurity and product requirements into technical specifications. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following SOLID, OOD, and industry best practices. Participate in architectural discussions, system design reviews, and code reviews. Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation. Continuously improve developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and delivery processes. Own features end-to-end—from system design and implementation to deployment and monitoring. Minimum QualificationsB.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, systems design. Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries:AngularJS, Bootstrap, TypeScript, Vue.js . Hands-on experience with at leastone backend technology:PHP, Node.js, Java, or Golang—with enthusiasm to learn more. Proficiency withLinux ,Docker ,NoSQL databases , and container-based development environments. Knowledge ofmicroservice architecture ,web services , andlow-level object-oriented design (OOD) . Familiarity withmessage brokers(e.g., RabbitMQ). Experience withcloud platformssuch as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Proven ability to leverage AI tools for code generation, debugging, documentation, and workflow acceleration. Strong understanding of prompt engineering and best practices for collaborating effectively with AI systems. Preferred QualificationsExperience withbig data technologiesand distributed data architecture. Ability and willingness to work across multiple languages and frameworks. Deep understanding ofSOLID principles ,design patterns , andDomain-Driven Design (DDD) . Experience building or maintainingdistributed systemsat scale. Experience withCI/CD pipelines , DevOps practices, and automation. Strong unit testing skills and atest-driven development (TDD)mindset.
