Its voluntary blockchain carbon trading platform and advisory services are innovative solutions that are helping businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and promote sustainability.Role Overview: The AFOLU Sector Expert will provide technical expertise and lead the implementation of projects within the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector. This role involves ensuring that all projects comply with various carbon standards, including VCS, CCB, Plan Vivo, GS, and ORMEX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in greenhouse gas emission validation and verification, project management, and a strong understanding of geospatial technologies.Key Responsibilities : Technical Expertise: ·Provide technical guidance on AFOLU projects, ensuring compliance with carbon standards. ·Lead the greenhouse gas emission validation and verification process for AFOLU sector projects. ·Develop and review project documentation, including methodologies, monitoring reports, and validation/verification reports.Project Management: ·Oversee the planning, implementation, and management of AFOLU sector projects. ·Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met. ·Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.Geospatial Analysis: ·Utilize geospatial technologies (RS & GIS) for project development and monitoring. ·Analyze spatial data to support project planning and decision-making processes. ·Ensure accurate mapping and reporting of environmental, social, and natural resource information.Stakeholder Engagement: ·Forge and maintain partnerships with academia, non-government institutions, and industries. ·Communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders, including funders, partners, and local communities. ·Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and other relevant events.Research and Development: ·Stay updated with the latest developments in the AFOLU sector and carbon standards. ·Contribute to the development of innovative processes and practical solutions for sustainable land use and climate resilience. ·Publish research findings and case studies in relevant journals and platforms.Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Environmental Science, Forestry, Agriculture, Climate Change, or a related field.Experience: ·Minimum of 8+ years of experience in the AFOLU sector’s successful projects (minimum 3) with a focus on greenhouse gas emissions. ·Proven experience in project management and geospatial technologies (RS & GIS). ·Demonstrated expertise in carbon standards such as VCS, CCB, Plan Vivo, GS, and ORMEX.Skills: ·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ·Proficiency in geospatial software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis tools. ·Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, and references to connect@compliancekart.io by 20 thDec.’2025.
