Founding Engineer

Overview

We are a Silicon Valley stealth-mode startup building AI Agents to disrupt the $146 billion marketing analytics and research industry, with our in-house AI Agents platform. Our founders bring tech leadership experience from Google Gemini, Search, Knowledge Graphs and we are backed by advisors from OpenAI, Google Brain and Meta AI Research.

We're seeking a Founding Engineer to drive our applied AI initiatives while building robust backend systems. This is a unique opportunity to blend cutting-edge AI research with production engineering at a fast-moving startup, working towards a bold vision led by an experienced founding team with 20 years of deep domain expertise. 

Note: You will report directly to a former Machine Learning Lead at Google Gemini & Search Core Ranking. 

Role Focus

• 40% dedicated to researching and implementing cutting-edge AI/LLM technologies
• 60% focused on backend development and productionizing AI systems

Core Responsibilities

AI Systems Development

•   Design and implement advanced multi-agent systems
•   Build and optimize RAG pipelines
•   Lead model fine-tuning initiatives
•   Build robust training / eval datasets and pipelines
•   Develop novel AI solutions for marketing analytics challenges

Backend Architecture

•   Design and implement scalable backend systems using Python and Node.js
•   Build robust data processing pipelines and ETL workflows
•   Work with various databases (SQL, NoSQL, vector, graph)
•   Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP via Terraform

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field from a top school
• 4+ years of backend development experience
• 2+ years of NLP, applied ML research and model productioning experience
• 1+ years of experience working with LLMs / RAG / agents in production
• Strong foundation in CS fundamentals and algorithms
• Deep expertise in Python
• Experience with vector databases and embedding systems
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices
• Awareness of the work tempo expected at an early-stage startup
