Job Overview:

- RNM India is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our team in Delhi.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy, with proven expertise in advisory, litigation, and compliance.

- This role will involve working closely with clients to identify indirect tax issues, provide strategic guidance, and drive successful outcomes in various tax planning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advisory and Compliance: Provide expert advice on GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy, including compliance, litigation up to the Tribunal level, and involvement in reorganizations, due diligence, cross-border strategies, and other tax planning opportunities.

- Client Engagement: Meet with clients to identify and discuss indirect tax/GST issues, providing tailored solutions and strategies to optimize their tax position.

- Representation in Legal Matters: Prepare and represent clients in Show Cause Notices and Appeals before Adjudicating and Appellate Authorities, ensuring strong and effective advocacy.

- Reporting and Opinion Drafting: Prepare detailed reports and opinions related to indirect taxes/GST for clients, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with legal standards.

- Tax Strategy Development: Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of indirect tax strategies to optimize tax incidence and support overall business objectives.

- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, and to become an expert in the field of indirect tax.

- Business Development Support: Assist the business development team in identifying target industries and sectors, supporting client business requirements with innovative tax solutions.

- Brand Development: Contribute to the development of the RNM brand through active participation in internal and external activities, and maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends and developments.

- Team Leadership: Leverage your technical proficiency to advise, guide, and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

- Stakeholder Meetings: Attend client and stakeholder meetings alongside the Tax team, contributing insights and ensuring alignment with client expectations.

- Strategic Support: Assist Partners with the formulation and implementation of tax strategies and risk management plans.

- Travel Requirements: Local travel may be required to meet with clients and stakeholders.

- Additional Projects: Participate in other projects and tasks as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the tax Chartered Accountant (CA) - Required

- LLB - Optional but preferred

Skills and Competencies:

- In-depth knowledge of GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy.

- Strong advisory and litigation skills, with experience in dealing with tax authorities.

- Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively.

- Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies that optimize tax incidence.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
