Description:At Outsized, we match clients in financial services and management consulting to high-quality independent consultants and boutique/specialist firms for the execution of their key projects.Our client is a leading consulting firm partnering with a prominent public sector bank on a transformative, 12-month strategic engagement. The initiative aims to design and implement a robust medium-term strategy for the bank, with a strong emphasis on MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise) sector development. This project presents a rare opportunity to make an industry-wide impact, driving the next generation of financial solutions, operational excellence, and ecosystem innovation for MSME clients.The consulting firm seeks to onboard a select group of 35 senior consultants with proven MSME expertise. These professionals will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank's MSME agenda working closely with client teams and stakeholders to validate approaches, drive strategic decisions, and ensure successful execution of core initiatives.1. Process & Product Innovation Expert- Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline MSME operational workflows and enhance service delivery efficiency- Drive innovation in MSME product design developing tailored lending, trade, and investment solutions aligned to client needs2. Credit & Risk Management Expert- Strengthen MSME credit underwriting frameworks and design robust BRE models to improve decision quality- Apply advanced credit risk assessment methodologies and data-driven approaches for portfolio optimization3. Ecosystem & Partnership Development Expert- Build a holistic MSME ecosystem by fostering partnerships with NBFCs, fintechs, and enterprises for co-lending, supply chain, and digital collaboration models- Support MSME growth through initiatives around equity finance, startup viability analysis, and pre-IPO advisory within the broader financial ecosystemKey Responsibilities:- Lead comprehensive process improvement efforts, streamlining operational workflows and enhancing service delivery for MSME clients - Design and develop innovative, client-centric financial products tailored to the evolving needs of MSMEs - Optimize sourcing channels and lead generation, deploying data-driven strategies to improve customer acquisition and conversion - Strengthen MSME credit underwriting processes and design robust BRE (Borrower Risk Evaluation) models to drive more effective loan decisioning - Build and scale a holistic MSME ecosystem developing digital platforms, fostering partnerships with large enterprises, and launching initiatives for improved market access, productivity, and sustainability - Develop and implement partnership models with NBFCs, fintechs, and other institutions to drive co-lending and financial innovation - Advise on equity finance, investment products, and merchant banking activities throughout the MSME lifecycle, including startup analysis and pre-IPO support Your Background:- Deep domain expertise in MSME banking, product innovation, credit evaluation, and process optimization - 5-10 years of experience advising public sector banks, NBFCs, fintechs, and/or banks- Track record of successful delivery of process and product redesign initiatives in the financial services sector - Strong analytical skills with hands-on exposure to BRE models, credit underwriting, ecosystem building, and partnership management - Advanced degrees (MBA, CA, CFA, or equivalent) preferred; certification in relevant domains highly valued- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across client and partner organizations This is a 12 month (extendable) contractual opportunity in BKC, Mumbai.
