Product Owner

The Opportunity: We are Seeking a Product Owner to join our Technology team in Chennai, India. As a Product Owner at Purchasing Power, you represent the customer and create a shared understanding of the problem and solution by providing one voice to the development team. This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to find innovative solutions to various challenges.Our Product Management team consists of cross-functional product managers and product owners that support our E-commerce, Operations, and financial business areas. Product Owners in this organization sit with the Scrum team at the intersection of the business and technology and are focused on enhancing existing products, features, and capabilities in our ecosystem. In this role as Product Owner, you will maintain the product backlog of system enhancements. Your stakeholders will vary and include business owners and subject matter experts across the enterprise. You will work with the Scrum team and product management organization on execution of the enhancement backlog in alignment with business needs.What You Will Do: • A successful candidate will need to be self-organized and a great communicator having an inquiring mind and proactive nature in approaching the following set of responsibilities: • Facilitate the enterprise enhancement intake process, communicating directly with business stakeholders. • Gather requirements from product manager, internal stakeholders, and customers • Oversee all stages of product creation including design, story writing, and development • Manages the product backlog priorities for the scrum team; JIRA is preferred. • Owns backlog grooming with the scrum team to ensure there’s a mutual understanding of the needs. • Planning and preparing user stories for grooming sessions. • Ability to communicate impediments to business owners and product leadership. • Data centric decision maker based on success criteria. • Story verification and acceptance for new features, enhancements & defects. • Provide release notes and demonstrations with product releases.The Experience You Will Bring: • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar relevant field may be considered. • 5+ years of relevant Product Owner experience in an Agile environment that demonstrates the ability to lead a scrum team, build relationships, and communicate effectively. • Works well in team environments (offshore/onshore model) Experience in designing in-house software. • Experience working on projects in areas such as ecommerce, payments, finance, UI design and 3rd party integrations. • Strong communication skills - including ability to listen to the needs of others and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present effectively in both oral and written presentations to technology and business stakeholders. • Strong system and data flow knowledge. Ability to learn and adapt to new product flows and software technologies. • Team-oriented approach with well-developed sense of urgency and follow through. • Strong work ethic, including the ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities. • In-depth knowledge of scrum and agile software development principles. • Agile scrum CSPO certification preferred.What We Stand For: • We act with intensity, urgency and a passion for supporting our customers and growing our business.
