Role: SDE2/3 & Staff Engineer YOE: 4-10 WFO - 5 days WFO HSR B’lore flexible work culture Must have: Java/ Springboot/ Python/ Go, Strong DSA, system design, must have worked in startup and enterprise both Only product people, only IIT, NIT & BITS or renowned product companies Fintech is bonus Responsibilities Design and build scalable backend systems for Vance’s fintech products.Write clean, efficient, and secure code with high performance.Develop resilient, fault-tolerant systems to handle millions of transactions.Collaborate with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams for seamless delivery.Implement robust APIs, distributed systems, and database optimizations.Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve system reliability.Align engineering efforts with business priorities for fast execution.Own backend architecture to ensure modularity, scalability, and extensibility.Requirements 4–10 years of backend development experience (startup/fintech preferred).Strong skills in designing scalable, high-performing backend systems.Proven ability to write efficient, production-ready code.Comfortable balancing technical choices with business needs.Hands-on builder who thrives in early-stage, high-ownership environments.Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Python, or Go (language-agnostic).Strong experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.Strong understanding of scalable architecture and ability to think through second- and third-order effects of design decisions. Experience with designing robust solutions beyond happy path scenarios; strong focus on edge case and error handling. Proficient in setting up proper project and package structures aligned with clean architecture principles (e.g., separation of concerns). Hands-on experience in creating and managingDAO layersfor database and in-memory data interactions. Solid understanding of database design, query optimization, and data modeling principles. Clear understanding of authentication and authorization workflows (JWT, OAuth, SSO, etc.). Strongproblem-solvinganddecision-makingskills, with a focus on long-term maintainability and scalability. Focus oncode quality, optimization , anddeadlock prevention/handlingin concurrent systems. Ability to analyze design trade-offs (e.g., UUID vs. ID) and justify with pros and cons. Collaborative team player with effective communication and documentation skills.
