Job Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for an Innovation and Incubation Manager at Meenakshi Sundararajan Innovation & Incubation Center (MSIIC), our anchoring center for all innovation and entrepreneurial activities offering end-to-end support system for our student and external start-ups for growth and scaling.
The Manager will be responsible for leading innovation projects, fostering a culture of creativity and entrepreneurship, and managing the incubation center activities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for fostering new ideas and guiding them from conception through to successful implementation and scaling.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement innovation strategies aligned with the institution's goals.
- Identify emerging trends and technologies relevant to the industry.
2) Project Management:
- Oversee incubation initiatives, from idea generation to prototype development and scaling.
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
3) Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including students and faculty from departments, partners, and industry representatives to gather insights and support for innovative projects.
- Present ideas and project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
4) Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Analyze data and trends to inform decision-making and strategy refinement.
5) Mentorship and Development:
- Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the institution.
- Mentor teams and individuals on best practices for innovation and project development.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in innovation management, entrepreneurship, and incubation
- Leadership skills in fostering creativity and driving change
- Project management skills in planning, executing, and evaluating innovation initiatives
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong understanding of business strategy, market analysis, and technology trends.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with agile methodologies and design thinking is a plus.
