Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

1

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design automation solutions using Ansible and other relevant technologies.

2

Develop and maintain a strategic plan for centralizing Ansible automation.

3

Create, test, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles that automate various tasks, configurations, and deployments.

4

Maintain and update the centralized inventory of managed hosts and resources.

5

Implement dynamic inventory solutions when applicable.

6

Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices for Ansible, including credential and secrets management. Ensure that automation complies with organizational security and compliance policies.

7

Scripting: Develop and maintain Python and PowerShell scripts to automate various tasks and processes.

8

API Integration: Work with APIs to facilitate communication between different systems and platforms.

JSON Handling: Proficiently work with JSON data for configuration management and data interchange.

Technology Stack Management: Manage and support automation solutions across a diverse technology stack, including Linux, Windows, VMware Virtual Machines, AWS and good to have GCP and azure.

Source Control: Use GitLab for version control and collaborate with development teams to ensure code integrity.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Have working knowledge of security methodologies in an enterprise infrastructure

Requirement and skills

1

Bachelor’s degree in engineering / computer science or a related field.

5 to 8 years of Proven experience as an Ansible Automation Engineer or similar role.

Strong scripting skills in Python and PowerShell.

Excellent communication skills

5

Familiarity with API calls and JSON.

6

Proficiency in working with Linux and Windows environments.

7

Experience with VMware Virtual Machines is a plus.

8

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS

9

Experience with AWX or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is preferred.

10

Familiarity with GitLab for version control.

11

Knowledge of Terraform and CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning.

12

Experience with integration of automation solutions into ITSM tools

13

Solid understanding of automation principles and practices Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration

14

Fair knowledge in networking, including VLANs, F5 VIPs, firewalls, and port

15

Have working knowledge of security methodologies in an enterprise infrastructure

16

Have knowledge of intermediate networking management concepts and client troubleshooting

17

Strong customer-service competencies, oral and written communication, technical documentation, time-management, and project management skills

18

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

19

Excellent change impact analysis skills for break-fixes, upgrades, and patches

20

Maintain systems according to established requirements through testing, implementation, and monitoring through the complete lifecycle of the product or solution

Be able to work in a dynamic, highly demanding, and highly visible team while keeping a professional attitude and composure

22

Be able to speak and relay information intelligently to both highly technical administrators and semi-technical personnel from various state agencies, customers, vendors, and other organizations
