Head Transformation & Productivity – R&D will be responsible for crafting strategic priority implementation plans for Dr.Reddy's Lab global R&D setup driving transformation and productivity initiatives at scale across product development value chain. He / She shall have the following deliverables:


  • Strategic Roadmap Planning: Create execution roadmap for identified strategic priorities along with related execution planning aspects for key performance areas of selection to launch including but not limited to product portfolio, product delivery excellence (On Time, On Cost, On Quality), SCM, Clinico-Regulatory excellence and Capability development leveraging principles of lean. Ensure integration and execution of these plans across cross functional and cross BU cohorts collaborating with functional & vertical leadership.


  • Transformation office program management: Oversee and coordinate timely execution of transformation and productivity initiatives with fit for purpose process interlocks, identified under strategic priorities working closely with process owners and leadership. Define and set-up the underlying micro processes along with mapped process owners for execution of activities identified under transformation areas. Define and institutionalise measurement framework for Key Activity Indicators (KAIs) identified for every strategic priority across identified product baskets. Monitor and report insights / course corrections on KAI performance to ensure leadership alignment with organizational goals.


  • Strategy Implementation Process Governance: Anchor governance forums to define and institutionalize strategic interventions (a process or multiple related processes) identified to drive productivity and transformation agenda across R&D.


  • Set up and host monthly Leadership Council (LC) forum chaired by IPDO Head, providing progress updates on strategic initiatives, impending decision making based on reported insights derived from KAIs. Co-create and implement countermeasures to address performance gaps and ensure timely closure of action items alongside vertical and functional heads. Audit and report the effectiveness of new process implementations corroborating with productivity KPIs, be a thought partner to leadership council helping identify improvement opportunities and ensure effective adoption of process on ground.


  • Value Apportionment: Develop & implement a value apportionment framework to measure the impact R&D transformation and productivity agenda accruals cutting across entire R&D value chain from Selection to Launch showcasing ROI with respect to Speed of Development, R&D delivery capacity, Product Manufacturability / Quality, COGS leadership at launch and Capability for future.


  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Work closely with process owners, PMO, IPDO LC and delivery/function leads including cross BU LCs to engage, align and establish deliverables of transformation office. Formulate and implement communication strategy across layers and formats including but not limited to MC presentations / leadership pitches / communiques / transformation journey narratives.


  • External Benchmarking: Leverage network ecosystem to perform and present “Outside In Benchmarking” study at regular intervals to leadership, in strategic areas of focus and re calibrate strategic priorities.


Qualifications and Experience :


  • MBA from tier 1 colleges with 12 to 15 years of experience in process governance. change management and performance monitoring,
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma BB/MBB, and other improvement methodology (TOC, X Matrix etc.).
  • Good understanding of Pharma Generic Research & Development and Operational Excellence Framework & lead the deployments in Pharma industry.
  • Prior experiences in internal/external process benchmarking and implementing best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across organizational layers.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, generate insights, and drive performance improvements.
  • Experience with external benchmarking and implementing best practices.
  • Strong leadership and thought partnership capabilities.
