Job DescriptionRole: Backup Administrator L1Location: Navi MumbaiRole SummaryThe Backup Administrator L1 is responsible for the daily operational execution, monitoring, and first-level incident support for the enterprise backup infrastructure. This role ensures the successful completion of backup jobs and handles basic restoration requests.Key Responsibilities:Monitoring & Reporting:Execute Daily backup Job monitoring and update the Daily Checklist accurately.Acknowledge and perform initial triage on alerts related to backup failures.Client & Job Management:Assist with NetBackup client installation and basic backup commissioning tasks.Perform preparation steps for routine backup types, including Normal File system and VM snapshot backup.Execute the Manual SAR cycle operation as required.Restoration & Recovery:Fulfill and execute standard Data Restoration Requests (Network Backup).Perform basic VM Snapshot Restoration tasks.Storage Operations:Assist with basic storage tasks related to backup copies, including FS Mounting/Unmounting and DG Import/Deport for BCV (Business Continuance Volume) based backups.Required Skills & Qualifications:Backup Tool Knowledge:Basic understanding of backup tools, specifically Veritas NetBackup.Foundational understanding of the backup process flow and its components (daemons).System Fundamentals:Basic knowledge of Server Hardware, Operating Systems (OS), and their configuration files.Basic knowledge of networking concepts related to backup communication (General Skills:Detail-oriented approach for accurate checklist maintenance and reporting.Strong communication skills for escalating unresolved issues clearly.
