Lead Azure SQL Server AdministratorWe are seeking a seasoned Lead Azure SQL Server Administrator to spearhead our database management team.Manage and oversee the administration of SQL Server databases, both on-premises and in Azure.Develop and execute strategic plans for Azure SQL Subscription services, ensuring maximum availability and cost-effectiveness.Perform thorough database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and monitoring.Design and maintain disaster recovery, backups, and high-availability solutions, including Always On and Geo-Replication.Implement and monitor robust security policies, access controls, and compliance standards.Plan and execute complex database migrations from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL.Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and database lifecycle management.Proactively identify and troubleshoot production issues and address database health and capacity concerns.Maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, and best practices.Key Qualifications:Minimum 10 years of experience as a senior SQL Server DBA.At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management.Expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues.In-depth knowledge of T-SQL, backup/recovery, replication, indexing, and security configurations.Demonstrated success in migration projects from on-premises SQL Server to Azure.Familiarity with Azure services like Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Automation.Understanding of licensing and cost management for Azure SQL resources.Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.Preferred qualifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification, experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD pipelines related to database deployments, and experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
