As the Project Director for our university construction project, your role is pivotal in delivering structurally safe, aesthetically appealing, and functionally efficient infrastructure to support the academic environment. You'll oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with standards, efficient resource allocation, risk mitigation, budget adherence, and timely completion.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Design Coordination and Technical Support:

- Provide technical guidance to Civil and MEP teams.

- Liaise with administration and academia.

- Review design proposals and tender documents.

- Ensure adherence to approved documents and design schedules.

2. Contract and Financial Management:

- Manage contracts with contractors and consultants.

- Scrutinize and certify financial documents.

- Prepare cost estimates for minor works.

- Monitor project costs against the budget.

3. Implementation of Technical Standards:

- Maintain and implement robust technical standards and processes.

- Ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

- Act as a key contact for technical issues with customers.

4. Project Management:

- Oversee multiple sub-projects.

- Provide detailed design packages adhering to substation engineering design standards and safety codes.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

5. Project Monitoring and Completion:

- Supervise project execution and monitor progress.

- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients.

- Independently handle cost certification, quality management, and closeout.

- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.

6. Value Engineering and Quality Assurance:

- Drive value engineering exercises.

- Monitor quantity and quality of materials.

- Review civil/MEP services design proposals.

7. Budget and Cost Management:

- Monitor project costs and expenses against the budget.

- Allocate resources effectively to ensure project Education: Bachelor's and Master's in civil engineering

- Experience: Minimum 20 years of relevant experience.

Skills

- Proficient in reading and understanding architectural and engineering drawings.

- Strong project management skills

- Strong negotiation skills.

- Ability to motivate teams and respond effectively to project- sensitive issues.
