Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead critical migration projects from legacy systems to AWS ECS. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team building responsibilities, focusing on migrating EOL OpenShift clusters and legacy PHP applications to modern containerized solutions on AWS.

Essential Requirements

Technical Expertise Required

• AWS Architecture: Expert-level knowledge of AWS services (ECS, EC2, VPC, Parameter Store, CloudFormation)
• Infrastructure as Code: Proficient in AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform
• Container Technologies: Deep expertise in OpenShift, Docker, and AWS ECS (Fargate/EC2 launch types)
• Migration Experience: Proven track record of large-scale application migrations and modernization
• Multi-tenancy: Experience designing and implementing multi-tenant architectures
• Web Technologies: Strong background in PHP applications, NGINX configuration, and SSL management
• Networking: Advanced knowledge of VPC design, load balancing, and CDN solutions (CloudFlare)
• Compliance: Experience with PCI compliance and security frameworks
• Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end cloud solutions for complex migration scenarios
• Project Management: Lead multiple concurrent migration projects with defined timelines
• Stakeholder Management: Interface with business and technical stakeholders

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Design and architect comprehensive cloud migration strategies using AWS ECS, EKS, Lambda, and containerization technologies while implementing multi-tenant infrastructures with VPC, IAM, and Parameter Store configurations

2. Build and scale high-performing engineering teams by recruiting skilled cloud and DevOps engineers while establishing mentorship frameworks, technical training programs, and knowledge transfer processes for AWS services adoption

3. Implement robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline with Infrastructure as Code deployment through AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, and automated testing frameworks

4. Establish Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch monitoring, implement SLIs/SLOs/error budgets, automated incident response, and observability solutions across containerized environments

5. Lead containerization initiatives using Docker, AWS ECS/Fargate, Kubernetes, and design container orchestration strategies with Helm charts, service discovery, load balancing, and auto-scaling configurations

6. Develop Infrastructure as Code frameworks using AWS CDK, Terraform Enterprise, CloudFormation with version control, implement disaster recovery using AWS Backup, RDS snapshots, and cost optimization through Reserved Instances and Spot Instances

7. Implement cloud security frameworks using AWS IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, AWS Config, CloudTrail, ensure PCI compliance, SSL certificate management, secrets management with AWS Secrets Manager, and vulnerability scanning

8. Lead cross-functional project delivery managing migration timelines, coordinate with development teams on application modernization, provide technical recommendations for AWS service selection, and manage stakeholder communications

9. Design performance optimization using AWS Application Load Balancer, CloudFront CDN, ElastiCache, RDS performance insights, implement auto-scaling with CloudWatch metrics, and conduct load testing with application performance monitoring

10. Drive innovation through AWS native services evaluation (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge), implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD, establish DevOps best practices, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging AWS technologies
