Job Title - Software Development BA
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the technical team to ensure the successful development and implementation of software solutions. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing requirements, facilitating communication, and ensuring that software products meet the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business needs and requirements.
- Conduct detailed analyses of business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create and maintain comprehensive requirement documents, user stories, and use cases.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure clear and effective communication.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to gather feedback and validate requirements.
- Provide regular updates and status reports to stakeholders and project managers.
Solution Design and Validation:
- Work with the technical team to design and validate software solutions that align with business objectives.
- Assist in the creation of functional specifications, prototypes, and wireframes.
- Support the development and testing phases by clarifying requirements and addressing any issues that arise.
Project Management and Support:
- Participate in project planning, scope management, and risk assessment activities.
- Track project progress and ensure alignment with business goals and timelines.
- Assist in the development of user acceptance testing (UAT) plans and coordinate UAT activities.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to provide valuable insights.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in a software development environment.
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis.
- Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management principles.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
- Agile or Scrum certification.
