Technical Lead

Technical Lead - Snowflake, ITIL - CREQ Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our Data Operations team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership abilities, and a solid understanding of ITIL best practices. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our data infrastructure, including Snowflake, Airflow, and DBT.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management Prioritize and triage incidents based on severity and impact, ensuring timely resolution and minimal no disruption to operations
Lead the response to data incidents, including system outages, performance degradation, or data integrity issues. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills, workload, and shift priorities.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management business usersand other teams, to provide updates on incident status and resolution efforts.
Snowflake ManagementSQL Proficiency Write, execute, and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data within Snowflake.
Snowflake Administration: Understand user management, security policies, and warehousing concepts like materialized views and clustering keysSnowflake Monitoring: Identify and troubleshoot performance issues within the Snowflake platform.Troubleshooting & Analysis Analyze error messages, logs, and query execution plans to diagnose andresolve Snowflake-related issues.Airflow OrchestrationWorkflow Orchestration: Manage and optimize workflow orchestration using tools like Airflow
Scripting Write scripts (Python or bash) to automate tasks within Airflow workflows.
Data Lineage: Track data flow through the platform using data lineage concepts.
Troubleshooting & Analysis: Diagnose and resolve issues with Airflow workflows by analyzing logs anjob execution ManagementSQL Modeling: Apply data modeling concepts and best practices for building dimensional Models: Develop and maintain DBT models to automate data transformation tasks withiSnowflake.Testing and Documentation: Write unit tests for DBT models and document data pipelines.Troubleshooting & Analysis: Troubleshoot DBT models by analyzing error messages and test Best PracticesDevelop, implement, and maintain service delivery processes in accordance Develop, implement, and maintain service delivery processes in accordance with ITIL best practices.
Understand the ITIL culture and know how to raise a Change request, problem ticketExperienceMinimum of five years to a maximum of ten years of experience in data operations or a related technical fieldProven experience in incident management, particularly within a data-centric environment.
Technical Skills:
Snowflake: Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake administration, and performance monitoring.
Airflow: Knowledge of workflow orchestration, scripting, data lineage, and troubleshooting.
DBT: Experience with SQL modeling, DBT model development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting General Strong analytical skills, technical troubleshooting, and data analysis Knowledge:Solid understanding of ITIL best practicesExperience in raising and managing Change requests, Problem tickets, and other ITIL Skills Excellent communication skillsability to engage effectively with all levels of the organizationStrong leadership and team managementskills.Ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
